Hyvä questions we hear most often

How long does a Luma-to-Hyvä migration take?+
Typically 6–10 weeks depending on the number of third-party extensions that need Hyvä ports. Stores with mostly native Magento features and a handful of extensions can be done in 5–6 weeks. Complex B2B stores with bespoke modules take 10–14 weeks. Our compatibility audit in week 1 gives you an accurate timeline.
Will all my extensions still work after migrating?+
Most popular extensions now have official Hyvä-compatible versions. For extensions without official ports, we either use the Hyvä Compatibility Module (which allows Knockout.js-based components to run on Hyvä) or we rewrite the frontend layer. We handle this in the extension audit phase and will tell you exactly what's needed before any code is written.
What Lighthouse score can we realistically expect?+
On mobile, our Hyvä builds consistently score 92–97. The main variables are third-party scripts (analytics, chat, pixel tags) and the number of above-the-fold images. We work with you to defer non-critical scripts and optimise hero images to ensure you hit 90+ regardless.
Is Hyvä the right choice if we plan to go headless?+
If your roadmap includes going headless (e.g. Next.js + Magento GraphQL) within the next 12–18 months, Hyvä may not be the right investment. We'll help you evaluate whether Hyvä, headless, or a replatform to Shopify makes more sense for your specific situation — no agenda, just honest advice.
